Lusaka STEM Center and Library

Agness and kasonde won our change makers grant in 2020 to establish the STEM center cum library project which will be cited in Chipata compound in the Lusaka province of Zambia. The center will provide a space for students to access reading materials and lessons on basic literacy and STEM. The project will begin with a STEM summer camp aimed at building students’ in STEM, which will be proceeded with ongoing STEM activities at the center through STEM clubs.

Agness teams up with Kasonde to establish a STEM centre/ library, and says, of her motivation for the project:

“The first time I mentioned ‘STEM’ to someone, they thought it was a tree. So Kasonde and I applied for the change makers grant to fund and develop our project. We were awarded the £1000 grant which we intend to build a STEM centre/Library with.” Agness Lungu.
