Ho Kpenoe Spot is located in Kpenoe in the Ho Municipality of Ghana’s Volta Region at Henry House Community School.
Ho Kpenoe is a growing and vibrant community that values education, togetherness, and the development of its young people. At the heart of the community is a strong desire to create better opportunities for children to learn, grow, and believe in their potential. This shared passion for education and community development inspired the birth of Ho Kpenoe Spot.
We joined EduSpots because we believed in the power of community-led learning and in EduSpots’ ability to connect, equip, and support us with the resources and tools needed to bring our vision to life through education.
Ho Kpenoe Spot was introduced into the EduSpots network through the support of Akofa Wallace, CEO of Henry House Community School. The journey began after some of our community leaders and educators attended the 2024 EduSpots Ignite Academy in Ho, Volta region. Through that experience, they were inspired by the vision of creating a learning hub where children and young people could access books, mentorship, and meaningful opportunities for growth.
With the support of committed individuals including Mrs. Akofa Wallace, Mr. Christian Mensah, Mr. David (Togbe), Mr. Maxwell Owusu, Mr. Fanuel Hotsonyame, Mr. Rex Kingsford, and Madam Eunice, the dream of establishing the Spot began to take shape at Henry House Community School.
Ho Kpenoe Spot serves as a school-based learning hub where learners can explore, read, discover, and grow under the guidance of dedicated EduSpots Catalysts. The arrival of books and learning resources such as tablets marked the beginning of something special for the community. What started as a dream quickly became a place of joy, curiosity, and opportunity for learners.
Through the activities and opportunities at the Spot, learners are building confidence, improving their reading skills, strengthening communication, and discovering their talents. The Spot is helping children develop not only academically, but also socially and emotionally through engaging activities that encourage teamwork, creativity, discipline, and self-expression.
Through strands such as EduKidz and other learner-focused project-based learning activites, Ho Kpenoe Spot is nurturing a love for literacy and learning in children while also creating space for leadership development and personal growth. Our Catalysts are also growing through leadership and community-based monthly challenges ( via the Spot Lead and Keeping Spot Safe strands) that help them strengthen their problem-solving skills and deepen their impact in the community.
Our vision is to transform Ho Kpenoe Spot into a thriving space of literacy, confidence, and opportunity, where learners are not only supported to succeed in school but are also inspired to become responsible leaders and changemakers in their community and beyond.
We believe that with the right support and opportunities, every child in Ho Kpenoe will shine. Through EduSpots, we are building a movement of hope, growth, and purpose, and we remain committed to this vision every step of the way.
