Piisi Spot is located in the Upper West region, Wa municipal, in the Piisi R/C JHS school.
The Spot is currently serving 211 learners with their ages ranging from 13 to 19. The team started with a Catalyst’s strength of four (4), and has grown to six committed Catalysts.
The Spot was founded by Madam Rafiatu Acheworon Bawa, Mr Modestus Yalkum, Mr Mohamed Nasiru, Mrs Ismail Shazia and Mrs Oppong Deverki in the year 2024.
At the Spot, learners engage in club activities and Monthly Challenges (project-based learning) to build their foundational literacy and digital skills and beyond that, also equip them with collaboration, teamwork and leadership skills.
Learners are always happy to visit the Spot to read and take part in club activities.
Our Catalysts are also engaged in leadership programmes and activities, which continue to develop their leadership and problem-solving skills to guide learners in enhancing their literacy skills and also come up with innovative ways to solve community problems.
In future, Piisi Spot will be the biggest learning space in the municipality supporting the literacy skills development of learners and the leadership and digital skills capacity of Catalysts in the municipality.
