Farida Yesufu
Community Manager
Farida is a passionate social entrepreneur committed to advancing literacy in Nigeria. She is the founder and literacy lead at The Bookworm Café, an innovative children’s literary organization that combines a library, bookstore, and book clubs to deliver engaging programs that improve literacy outcomes for Nigerian children.
Farida holds a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Benin and brings over a decade of corporate experience in consulting, telecommunications, and the energy sector. She leverages this strategic and operational expertise to drive social impact. Since founding The Bookworm Café, she has grown it from a small local initiative into a nationally recognized platform for educational change.
Her interests span children’s literature, literacy development, STEM education, inclusive learning environments, and educational technology. In 2022, she joined EduSpots as Head of Communications, where she led efforts to amplify EduSpots’ work across global platforms. She now serves as a part-time Community Manager, overseeing the 100 Club (EduSpots’ community of monthly donors) by sharing regular updates and fostering engagement. She also leads the EduChamps Club, further deepening connections within our wider community of supporters.
Through her work with EduSpots and The Bookworm Café, Farida continues to champion accessible, inclusive, and high-quality education, inspiring the next generation of readers and learners.
