Kotokoli Zongo Spot is a school–based Spot in Agona Swedru, Agona East District. The Spot is situated at Kwansakrom AEDA ‘A’ Basic School. The school had a library which was abandoned many years ago which was later converted into a store room for the school. Obviously, this exacerbated the plight of learners in the school as access to learning resources further widened.

In May 2023, EduSpots adopted the library as one of its various community intervention locations. The library was subsequently renovated, fixed shelves, furniture, and stocked with books. The breadth of new life into the infrastructure of the library has reignited the interest of students who are making maximum use of the learning space.

Currently, the Spot has a librarian in charge of all activities at the Spot. With the support of over 12 Catalysts, the Spot facilitates learners’ participation in the regular EduKidz and Ignite Equity monthly challenges.

The Spot has increasingly become child friendly and provides a comfortable learning environment providing learning experience to over 50 students daily. It is no wonder the reading and literacy skills of the pupils have seen some significant improvement as highlighted by the School’s Headmistress, “the children are always coming here for club meetings and their reading and leadership skills are improving due to the support from EduSpots”.
