What does it actually mean to promote active local and global citizenship behaviours, skills and attitudes, through education?
And what do these behaviours, skills and attitudes look like in today’s world?
And how to we need to adapt them as the world quickly changes?
In today’s world, it’s more important than ever for students to explore how their cultural and social positioning shapes their perspectives and actions. By doing so, they can engage meaningfully with youth from diverse backgrounds — with empathy at the heart of every interaction.
So today… we are launching the EduCitizens Community! We’d love to bring a community of educators of all ages and backgrounds together to explore on a journey of exploration in the new EduCitizens Community.
The EduCitizens Community will:
? Meet online, once a month for 60 mins.
? Welcome educators across schools, communities and NGOs.
? Involve practitioners sharing ideas, experiences & models
?? Be rooted in a dialogical, collaborative & critical approach
? Open to applications from across the world
What kind of citizenship education?
We understand that this area of education has a broad scope and embeds in diverse forms within diverse school and community contexts. Concepts of citizenship and global understanding are nestled within community action, partnerships development, PSHE, geography, charity projects, environmental awareness, values, history, philosophy, ethics, and so many more areas!
On this journey, EduSpots also hopes to gain participants’ input into the development of their new online course platform which have previously focused on charitable ethics, postcolonial thinking and intercultural understanding.
The redevelopment of these courses are being funded by the UNESCO‘s Youth for Peace initiative funded by the KINGOLD Group Companies Ltd. as part of their Intercultural Leadership Programme, that our CEO/Founder, Cart Davison, ha just started a journey on.
Your input and ideas could therefore feed into an education initiative that could reach thousands of learners of all ages in the years ahead.
How to apply to join
We are limiting the community to 30 places initially, to ensure that this group isn’t too large (assuming anyone will apply!). Thanks for sharing a little about your ideas and experience in the survey below, so we can get a sense of how you connect with this theme.
Please complete the short survey here by Monday 22nd September 2025.
