We’re excited to share EduSpots’ strategy for 2026–27
As we step into our second decade, our collective ambition is to deepen the quality, sustainability and degree of community ownership across our existing network while expanding our reach to thousands more learners.
By the end of this phase, we aim to reach 20,000 learners through our network of community-led Spots, while extending our educational innovations to 50,000+ learners across Ghana and beyond.
Our approach is built around five elements:
- The Sustain Phase
Strengthening the quality, sustainability and community leadership of our 52 existing Spots, with support from the EA Foundation strengthening our Education Hub and integrating “EduPlay” with support FIFA and Global Citizen.
We are introducing a new Community Leadership and Sustainability Measure, with peer reviews, and enterprise development support. Those Spots that peers agree are thriving, moving towards learning centre status.
2. The Ignite Programme
Welcoming 50 new community-led Spots through a streamlined start-up journey, building evidence of impact alongside partners including Theirworld and the Mastercard Foundation.
50 new Spots will be identified through our Spot recruitment process, led by Catalysts within the network, before moving through a six-step monthly challenge process to set-up Spot systems, safeguarding and a team, ahead of joining the Education Hub.
3. Building Through Partnerships
Deepening collaboration with government, NGOs, schools, communities and corporate partners to strengthen collective impact. More information here to follow!
4. Strengthening EdTech Innovation
Working with MEST Africa and the Mastercard Foundation to further develop the EduSpots App and launch a new Digital Champions Programme to extend learning and support across the network.
We are continuing to strengthen our WhatsApp for Learning and Community Building approach, an innovation which sits at the core of our approach.
5. Launching EduSpots Unlocked
Opening our educational innovations to wider audiences while generating sustainable income for our core network. This includes:
• Our online course on Communications, Power and Agency
• Our WhatsApp for Learning methodology and training
• Communities of practice including CECOP and EduCitizens, developed with support from the Gower Street Trust and UNESCO.
As always, this strategy has been shaped alongside our incredible network of Catalysts and communities, and we will be sharing more on each element, soon!
