EduSpots is excited to announce its book drive and fundraiser, as part of our World Book Day activities.
This initiative aims to provide 10,000 children across our network of 50 community-led education spaces (named ‘Spots’) across Ghana and Kenya with access to books and resources to improve reading skills, promote literacy, and foster a love for reading.
World Book Day 2024, celebrated globally on 7th March this year, aims to promote the love of books and reading. EduSpots is marking this day by embarking on a month-long book collection drive and fundraiser, from 29th February to 31 March 2024.
We are partnering with a number of organisations to collect books and donations that will go towards purchase of books, on EduSpots’ behalf. Individuals, businesses and organisations that would like to support the drive are invited to participate by dropping off books at our collection points in Accra: Jambo Spaces, Com_UnitySpaces, Theia Café, iSpace, and Impact hub. We have also partnered with two bookstores in Ghana: BookNook Store and Booksie Bookshop. Book vouchers can be purchased from these stores as a donation towards the drive.
We welcome donations of any quality books and educational resources for all age groups, from early years to senior secondary with a particular focus on books by African authors. All the books collected will be distributed to our existing 50 Spots across 15 regions in Ghana, enabling over 10,000 learners in underserved communities to have access to a wider range of reading and learning materials, boosting their literacy skills and encouraging them to be lifelong learners.
Mr Adam Nabila, Kalpohin Spot Leader, commented “If we want to encourage pupils to read then we need to give them books that mirror their worlds and capture their interest. We call on everyone to support this great initiative. ”

In as much as it’s important feeding one’s stomach, it is of great essence to as well give the brain what it needs.
We need to develop the habit of reading for that is one of the many ways through which knowledge is acquired.
Thumps up to you guys for your wonderful works????
