SHARON MEGA
Female Youth Changemaker
My name is sharon Mega, I am 19 years old and I am from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I am a student at the Africa Science Academy in Ghana. I love to encourage girls in my community to do so as well.
Currently, being an EduSpots Youth Chnagemaker, I have the wonderful opportunity to build the first ever all-girls STEM summer camp in Addis Ababa, which I hope to launch in July 2020. This is just to encourage more girls to keep pushing and to show by example that if you set your mind to it, you can do absolutely anything. I am motivated by the butterfly effect in chaos theory, which I learnt from the founder of my school, Dr. Tom lllube CBE, which states that the flap of a butterlfy’s wings in Brazil can cause a tornedo in Texas. What this means is that the slightest change in the initial condditions of something will cause a tremendous change in the outcome. This is why I want to become the butterfly that flaps her wings to cause a tornedo so that more girls can live their full potential.
I am happy to be part of the EduSpots family. I have amazing mentors with a variety of experiences and many other men and women passionate about impact just as I am. I am very excited to learn and have my project impact as many girls as possible.
