We are delighted to share that EduSpots has been selected as one of 31 organisations worldwide to join the second cohort of the FIFA Global Citizenship Education Fund!
The Fund supports community-based organisations that are expanding access to quality education and sport for children and young people in underserved communities.
At EduSpots, we enable communities themselves to create the futures they want to see through education, active citizenship and play. We are therefore incredibly excited to partner with Global Citizen and FIFA over the coming year to strengthen community-led learning across our network.
Thanks to this support, we will:
- Train 100 community educators (“Catalysts”) through high-quality residential leadership Academies, with a focus on inclusive teaching methodologies.
- Engage 10,000 learners (“Sparks”) in community-led clubs spanning early years education, digital literacy, STEM, environmental action and gender equity with feedback and recognition systems, supported by the EduSpots App.
- Support 52 community-owned Spots to launch sports clubs, choosing from football, basketball, volleyball and table tennis, backed by local grant funding and ongoing mentoring.
- Equip all 52 Spots with additional books and learning resources to strengthen educational opportunities.
EduSpots’ Catalyst Committee Chair, Nimatu Abdul-Rahman, commented: “The whole EduSpots network is incredibly excited to have been selected for this remarkable opportunity to work with FIFA and Global Citizen. This partnership will help us deepen and expand our community-led education model, enabling even more young people to develop the skills, knowledge and mindset to become active citizens in their own communities.”
A huge thank you to Global Citizen and FIFA for believing in EduSpots, and to our incredible network of Catalysts whose passion and leadership continue to make this work possible.
