Danielle Harris
Trusts and Foundations Manager
Danielle joined EduSpots in October 2022. She is a trusts and foundations specialist and has worked for large and small charities focussed on development in Africa for over 20 years. She is passionate about access to a quality education for all and how communities unite to create the futures they want to see, rather than from a western perspective.
After gaining a BA Hons in Social Anthropology (School of African and Asian Studies) at Sussex University she knew she wanted to work in the charity sector and specifically in international development. After two years of trying different areas of fundraising for a large NGO she realised she could put to good use her love of writing by developing strong and persuasive proposals to raise grants from trusts and foundations. She then spent 4 years working for another large charity where she really developed her craft.
After taking a short break to have a family she returned to the sector but knew she wanted to put her experience into working with small grassroots organisations which she knew were making a real and sustainable difference. She has worked on a freelance basis for the last 10 years from her home in rural East Sussex.
When Danielle is not working she can be found driving her boys to various cricket, football or squash matches! But she loves swimming in the sea, walking her dog in the beautiful south downs and attempting to grow vegetables in her garden.
