Sakasaka

In a small corner of a vibrant community, a once-forgotten school was transformed to a thriving oasis of learning. Sakasaka Junior High School in the Northern part of Ghana, a place that was once devoid of basic learning materials, had been reborn.

The journey began with a vision — a vision to create a space where young minds could explore, discover, and grow. But the reality was stark: empty shelves, worn-out textbooks, and a scarcity of resources. The community came together, determined to revive the school and unlock the potential of their children. That is when the school decided to join EduSpots, given the organisation’s passion for enhancing the learning experience. With expertise and support, the community’s vision began to take shape. EduSpots worked with the community to raise the standard of Sakasaka Spot, providing guidance on resource management, Catalyst training, and community engagement.

The team of experts helped design a Spot, equipped with books, digital resources, and comfortable reading areas.
Together, the head teacher, teaching staff, the community and EduSpots transformed an abandoned classroom into a vibrant learning hub. Shelves were built, and books filled them — colorful tomes that transported children to far-off lands, sparked their imagination, and kindled a love for reading. STEM materials arrived, and the Spot was abuzz with excitement. Children’s hands tinkered with robotics, their minds grasping the wonders of science and technology.

The impact was palpable. Students who once struggled to find books to read now devoured them with relish. Those who lacked access to technology now built their own robots. The Spot had become a beacon of hope, a testament to the power of community and the impact of EduSpots’ support. Sakasaka Spot stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when people come together to make a difference. It is a story of hope, resilience and the transformative power of education. The library is a hub of activity, the STEM materials are in high demand, and the community is united in their quest for knowledge and progress.

EduSpots continues to support Sakasaka Spot, ensuring that the community has the resources and expertise needed to sustain and grow their learning initiatives. Donations to EduSpots had played a vital role in this transformation, enabling them to provide the necessary support to Spots all over Ghana and other countries.
