Shine Dewovo
Early Years Literacy Coordinator
Shine Dewovo is a passionate young lady with special interest in NGOS in Education, Education Intervention and Innovation, Girl Education and Educational Development.
She has worked for the past 11 years in various aspect of education in the public and private sector with significant classroom experience as a class teacher, Subject teacher in the Senior Secondary School teacher, Teaching Assistance in the University of Ghana.
Shine also has experience working with both local and international NGOs such as Plan International, Varkey Foundation, Gems Education Solutions, The Reading Factory and Kaya Child Care.
Shine has worked and supported in the Researching, designing and implementing tailored curriculum for both young and adult learners as part of MGCUED project. Deliver literacy lessons via satellite technology to 72 communities in remote parts of Ghana.
Other projects delivered includes T4T (Train for Tomorrow) a remote teacher training project in Ghana which aims to train school leaders to become Instructional Leaders first through face-to-face training, and then through a distance-learning cascade, made possible by a satellite link and solar-powered infrastructure and TRC –Teach to Reach Remote Classroom project an interactive distance learning project which aims to improve the educational experience in literacy and numeracy of refugee children from Coted’Ivoire, residing in two refugee camps in Ghana
Shine is an experience Jolly phonics teacher and learn through play enthusiast who is passionate about literacy learning outcomes. This passion is demonstrated in her support for literacy programs as content reviewer for FHI360 : Continues Professional Development program for teachers in Ghana in partnership with GES. Lead Literacy Trainer for the Reading factory. Produced Ghana Digital intervention Learning Program for Senior High School respectively and also reviewed literacy contents for the Ghana learning series.
In recognition of her hard work, she emerged Winner for the 2016 Innovative Digital Teacher EDUCOM awards. She was also holds the “Value Champion Award for ‘Inclusion and Empowering” from PLAN INTERNATIONAL Ghana.
She holds Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Ghana. Master’s Degree in Public Affairs, University of Ghana. Currently studying for a second, Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Valley View University-Oyibi and an Empowered to Educate Fellow.
