Cynthia Mawuena Tetteh is an education and community development professional with over seven years of experience supporting children, young people, and grassroots leaders through equitable learning opportunities and community-based action. She is deeply passionate about the power of education to transform lives and believes that every child, regardless of background, deserves the opportunity to grow in confidence, purpose, and potential.
She currently serves as the Volta Regional Coordinator at EduSpots, where she provides leadership and support to volunteer educators across the region, helping to strengthen programme quality, accountability, and community impact. Over the years, she has also served EduSpots in roles including EduKidz (Early Years Literacy/Development) Coordinator, Online Courses Coordinator, and Lead for Volunteer Recognition, contributing to online courses programme delivery, early-year learning and literacy programming, volunteer development, safeguarding, and volunteer recognition across the network.
Her work has included scaling the early years literacy strand from 10 to 27 partner communities, facilitating volunteer training, and strengthening learning support systems for children and communities.
Cynthia’s EduSpots journey began as a volunteer at Posmonu Spot, where she led arts and literacy club activities, helped secure a grant, mobilised 600 storybooks for a school library, and supported learners to place among the top performers in national literacy and EcoSTEM challenges.
Before this, she served as a Lead For Ghana Fellow in Ave Posmonu D/A Junior High School, where she secured GHS 20,750 funding for educational resources and girl-child initiatives, supported a library renovation, established a girls’ club, and contributed to a reduction in reported teenage pregnancy cases through empowerment and reproductive health education. She also partnered with Junior Achievers Ghana to deliver financial literacy training for B5–B9 learners, equipping them with practical money management skills and strengthening their understanding of saving, budgeting, and responsible financial decision-making.
Recognised for both leadership and service, Cynthia brings a strong combination of compassion, resilience, cross-cultural awareness, and practical experience in education and development. She is especially interested in opportunities at the intersection of education policy, international development, community leadership, and project management, and is committed to using her skills to create lasting, people-centred impact.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in French and Spanish and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the University of Ghana.
