David Roche

STEM Advisor

David works as a Physics teacher at Sevenoaks School in the UK. Prior to starting teaching, David studied Engineering at Imperial College London, before completing his PhD at the University of Cambridge. However, he quickly realised that he mostly enjoyed sharing his love of science with others rather than sitting in a lab, so completed a PGCE and made the jump into teaching.

Outside of the classroom, he is very interested in all sorts of outreach activities, including working with the Kent Academies Network, a group aiming to improve university uptake for students across Kent. He also enjoys primary school outreach, teaching simple computer coding using Microbits to local primary students in a fun and engaging way.

David has been working with Eduspots since 2019. With Eduspots he works with a team of UK students in collaboration with our partners in Ghana to design educational STEM resources for use in the rural communities – making use of sustainable materials and simple designs to ensure they are suitable for the Eduspots.
