Meet Emmanuel Adjei, a proud Ghanaian who is undertaking an epic cycling adventure from Munich to Accra in May 2025 with one goal in mind – to make a lasting impact for EduSpots in this process.
We are excited to introduce his big adventure: ‘Bike2MyRoots’ – a Journey to Build, Inspire, and Explore!
Adjei is a passionate advocate for education and truly believes in the power it has in transforming lives. For him, this project is about returning to his roots and giving back along the way.
This is where EduSpots comes in – this project aims to support upwards of 10,000 children and young adults in 50 underserved communities.
Any funds raised on his Raisley page (the page is already open for donations to encourage Emmanuel on his journey!) will be supporting EduSpots in the following ways:
- Provision of resources – Spots are provided with a range of books, learning resources, and digital devices to be able support learning
- Expanding our dynamic network of community educators – With currently 50 Spots throughout Ghana, help EduSpots to expand the impact and reach community educators through the creation of new Spots
- Leadership Development – EduSpots offers development training, monthly leadership challenges, team coaching, and access to flexible grant funding
His love for cycling started young, when he first rode his father’s bicycle without his permission and was re-ignited after moving to Germany in 2012 where cycling is extremely popular. Adjei moved to Munich to further pursue education at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) where he received a BSc and MSc in Sports and Exercises Science.
He currently works as a sports scientist at his university’s hospital for sports medicine and sports cardiology. For Adjei, this journey is also about inspiring others to be able to dream and achieve as well as, “provide a platform to experience and learn from diverse African culture, food, hospitality, and people”
The route!
His route consists of traveling from Munich over the Strait of Gibraltars, through the Atlas Mountains, into the deserts of Western Sahara and Mauritania, along the tropical rainforests and coastal regions of West Africa, finishing his journey in his hometown of Teshie, Accra.
We are so excited to be a part of Adjei’s journey from Munich to Accra and we will be waiting at the finish line to celebrate! Join us in wishing Emmanuel good luck as he embarks on this adventure of a lifetime!
