The entire EduSpots team is delighted to welcome Amjad Saleem to the Trustee board. He was officially confirmed as a Trustee in March 2021, and brings a wealth of experience from the humanitarian sector.
Upon joining EduSpots, Amjad said: “I am really excited to be joining EduSpots a vibrant organisation seeking to transform lives through education and also minds. I look forward to being part of this journey”.
Amjad Saleem (OS 96) is a British Sri Lankan currently working with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Geneva. He manages the work around diversity, inclusion, violence prevention, education and youth. He has many years experience of peace building, interfaith dialogue and working in the humanitarian space.
After graduating from Univeristy and working for a few years as an engineer, he joined the humanitarian sector following the 2004 tsunami, and worked in Sri Lanka from 2005-2009 in humanitarian work and from 2013-2017 on post conflict reconciliation. He has worked with the Commonwealth Foundation, International Alert, the Cordoba Foundation, the International Centre for Dialogue and was the conflicts advisor to the 2016 UN World Humanitarian Summit .He has an M.Eng from Imperial College, MBA from Manipal GlobalNxt and a PhD from Exeter University. He is an Alumni of the Geneva Centre Security Policy
