We are delighted to welcome Ruth Bussey into the team as an EduSpots UK Trustee.
Ruth is a Chartered Accountant with previous experience of auditing UK charities during 7 years at EY London. In addition to being a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Ruth also has a Batchelor’s degree in Molecular Genetics. Ruth was born in Sierra Leone and moved to Europe at the age of 10. She is passionate about education as a tool for national development and social change.
Upon being appointed to this new role, Ruth said:
“I was excited to be asked to become a Trustee of EduSpots, a Charity with a refreshing approach to working with communities in countries in Africa and the UK to bring about positive change. I hope I can use my experience to help promote the Charity’s vision for many years into the future.”
Ruth is overseeing the financial aspect of EduSpots’ work, working closely with our Finance Officer in Ghana in the area of financial planning and management. She also offers a wealth of professional insight, and is interested in contributing to the development of the STEM programme, too. The entire team warmly welcomes Ruth to the EduSpots family.
